The United States of America is a country in North America comprised of 50 states, a federal district, and five territories. Washington D.C. is the capital a d federal districts was separated in 1791 from the states Maryland and Virginia. In 1846, Virginia took back it's land.

The United States of America is the third largest country in terms of size and very close to third largest in terms of population. This massive country is located in North America and is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean on the west and Atlantic Ocean in the east. It has Canada and Mexico as its neighbour in the north and south respectively.
The United States has steep mountains in the West and a massive plain in the central America. The highest peak is Mt. McKinley at 20,320 feet and the lowest point the Death Valley, which is at -282 feet.
The country is divided into six main regions, i.e. New England, the mid-Atlantic, the South, the Midwest, the Southwest and the West.
The landscape varies from region to region. You will find from tropical beaches of Florida to high peaks of the Rockies. From rolling prairies to widespread deserts in the West and wilderness in the Northeast and Northwest. Apart from this, you have the Great Lakes, Grand Canyon and the collosal River Mississippi.
Climate varies widely across the continental USA, as well as in Alaska and Hawaii. Generally, Summers are hot and humid in the plains and southern states, while it is very hot and dry in Southwest.
Winters in the southern states are mild, while in the north and northeast, plains and in the western mountains, it is often extremely cold with heavy snow and sub-zero temperatures.
Severe weather calamity in the form of thunderstorms is a normal thing in spring and summer. Devastating tornadoes are common in spring and summer months, especially in the central part.
The United States of America is one of the countries of the world that has beautiful landscapes. It is definitely one of the most diverse country in the world in terms of landscape. The tropical areas like Florida and Hawaii are even more beautiful. Florida also known as The Sunshine State, lies in the southernmost point of continental United States, has some trendy beaches, sprawling cities, beautiful lighthouses and warm weather.
The USA is a country where you can find breathtaking mountains, lakes, national parks, outstanding coastlines, many spectacular highways.
Colorado tops the list of beautiful states. Not many places in the world can compete with the scenic natural beauty of Colorado. From the splendid Rockies to the great Canyons by the Colorado River needs to be explored.
California stands atop as the most beautiful state in the US. It is home to some great destinations such as Hollywood, Disneyland, Napa Valley, Yosemite National Park and the beautiful San Francisco Bay area.
Natives of America were the prehistoric hunters who migrated from the northeast Asia. They resembled the people from Mongolia, Siberia and China.
Their skin colour was reddish brown and that is the reason they are known as the Red Indians.
Immigration has influenced the demographics of the United States to a large extent. The initial immigrants poured in and settled from the neighbouring countries mostly Mexicans, Latinos.
The Spanish were the first Europeans to settle in the United States. Apart from this Germans, Jews, Irish, Italians and English were also among the people who forms a major portion of the total population.
African Americans make up the second largest group in the United States but the third largest group after White Americans and Hispanic or Latino Americans.
English is the most widely spoken language in the United States of America. English is used in all official platforms. Though English and Spanish are the most common languages spoken in the US with German and Hebrew falls next in line. Some Asian languages that are spoken by a large group of people are Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, Tagalog etc.
The country has inherited much of its culture from the British because of the British ancestry. That is the reason a majority of the US population follows the English culture.
